An award-winning media company in London is looking for a conceptually-driven Senior Designer to join their Marketing Design Team.
The Marketing Design team is comprised of six groups to promote both editorial and subscription initiatives, including Product Design, Visual Storytelling, Editorial Graphics and Video. From the conceptual stage through to roll out across multiple channels, including in-paper, onsite display, OOH and social, the Marketing Design team covers many projects and initiatives.
They are looking for a highly creative Senior Designer to join the Marketing Design team to collaborate with the other team members and report to the Lead Designer. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team of marketers, data analysts, CRM specialists and other design areas, the Marketing Design team has a fundamental role to play in helping attract subscribers.
You will have a firm understanding of turning concepts into beautiful and meaningful visual languages across print, digital and motion graphics. Senior is amongst one of the most experienced roles, and you are capable of being self-initiated, organised, capable of leading other designers and able to build relationships with stakeholders. In addition, you must be able to take on feedback and react to an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
The Senior Designers role will be to lead projects across editorial, subscriptions (acquisition and retention), events, partnerships and the company’s rewards platform.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in-house or at an agency in a similar role
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of brand and marketing campaigns and has a portfolio showcasing both.
- Positive attitude and team player that works alongside other creatives and stakeholders – you take feedback well, developing or re-working ideas to meet the need of the brief.
- A passion for all things design
Key Responsibilities
- Consistent at developing design solutions from concept to execution
- Liaise with key stakeholders to present a clear rationale behind project concepts and work alongside them to deliver creative requirements
- Share your ideas and creative thinking within the team
- Oversee and manage the work of junior/midweight in-house or freelance designers and delegate workloads accordingly
- Help junior/midweight designers to grow while acting as a role model, providing relevant feedback and working alongside them so they understand the design decisions made.
- Be comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Take responsibility for your decisions and challenge briefs – looking to push direction in a proactive manner.
- You’re adaptable and able to adjust to a changing environment, moving from one brief to another.
Key Skills
- A mastery of Adobe CC (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- Working knowledge of Figma
- Have an outstanding portfolio of projects you’ve worked on, either individually and as part of a team
- An excellent understanding of typography, colours, usability and accessibility
- Have a clear vision and commercial awareness
- Know how to create a consistent visual language that is beautiful, stylish and recognisable for the entirety of their customers’ experience
- Be able to keep commercial objectives and the ‘bigger picture’ in mind when designing.
- Have solid experience in the print and digital production process
- The ability to confidently multitask different projects
- Illustration skills would be highly beneficial.
